His Music.

Audiences and Fans adore the  “Ringing” temple bell voice. A few Western Classical and Jazz musicians have hailed his voice as having a “Perfect Pitch”. Endowed with a range of three octaves, his musical phrases have crystal clear tonal quality and purity. He has a vast repertoire and boundless creative expression. His concerts are enthralling and hence sought after in festivals held in India and internationally.

Musical Journey .

  • A Suryaprakash concert is a regular feature in the Carnatic Music circuit. Suryaprakash has performed widely both in India and several countries abroad. He has been a sought-after artist at several international festivals, some of which are the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival and 'Festival of Asia' in Melbourne, Australia. He is the only musician from Asia to have performed at the Parliament House of Australia, Canberra. Suryaprakash is an 'A' graded artiste by All India Radio, Chennai.
  • Amidst his globe trotting concert schedules, Suryaprakash has trained many students all over the globe; some of them have already blossomed into accomplished performing artistes. He has conducted several workshops and lecture-concerts, to name a very few, Music Departments of University of North Carolina, Miles College of Alabama, Utah State University, Festival of Asia in Melbourne.
  • Having performed numerous concerts for social causes and charity, Suryaprakash also serves as a Treasurer in the Global Carnatic Music Association (GCMA) founded with the goal of promoting young and emerging artists and helping the elderly and the poor among musicians.

As a Composer .

Suryaprakash’S compositions fall into various categories such as varnam, krithi, ragamalika, swarajathi and thillana. He has also composed songs on social themes and the situations of the period, written the lyrics and set the musical score for dance productions staged in Melbourne and Chicago. He has tuned the lyrics of Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathi’s epic “Kuyil Pattu” (Cuckoo’s Song), singing and presenting the poems in musical form as weekly episodes in his official YouTube channel “R. Suryaprakash Official” along with the explanation of lyrics by the eminent Tamil scholar and his childhood friend, Dr.Arul Avvai Natarajan. This current project of Suryaprakash titled “Kuyil Pattu Paduvom” (Let’s sing the Cuckoo’s Song) has been received rapturously by the music lovers. Media has hailed this as a fitting tribute to the legendary poet and a contribution to music and the Tamil language.
